That's what started it all... more photography classes, more road trips, buying lighting equipment and more
advanced cameras. Since then I've photographed many people for many different reasons and occasions, but I
love taking photographs of children the best.

There's something about how unaffected small children are by the presence of a camera that is truly amazing.
Unlike an adult, a child will look at you curiously for a few minutes then lose interest and go on about their play,
allowing the opportunity to document natural poses and expressions. Older children notice the photographer but
they love the attention and will often go out of their way to pose for the camera.

Most adults hate pictures of themselves - myself included! The only photos of myself you will see on these pages
are photos taken by someone else, taking a picture of me while I'm taking a picture of them... meaning that it's
a picture of me with a camera in front of my face - like this one of my husband Kevin and I clowning around in
front of an antique store mirror in Monticello, FL.
What Started This Whole Thing & Why I Still Do It (Cont'd)
Before long, my photographs were given as inexpensive but
well-received gifts at Christmastime or birthdays. Sometimes it
was a quick shot of a butterfly in the backyard marigold patch.
Once it was a simple black and white print of my neice running
towards the backyard swing.

I loved seeing my work displayed in other people's homes. The
pictures were later used to create birthday cards, or maybe
simple note cards to give as thank-you gifts. Word spread and
people started offering tp pay me to take pictures for them. I
was amazed that people would pay me to do something that
was so much fun!
